In the begining there was Sputnik
On October 4th 1957 as Leave It To Beaver premiered on American Television, the Soviet Union launched the first man-made object into space, a 184-pound satellite carrying only a radio transmitter. While Sputnik 1 immediately shocked the world, its long term impact was even greater, for it profoundly changed the shape of the world we know today. - Paul Dickson author of Sputnik the shock of the century.
During the recording of KNOW I became obsessed with Sputnik. It came to me as a theme demanding to be included n the creative process. So I did. First we found recordings of the original Sputnik beeps, cleaned them up and included into three of the nine songs on the disc. Do you know which ones? Sputnik is the herald of the space age which lead to the development of digital techology. So as part of the KNOW theme This beauty represents our life as we now KNOW it.
